Science Week 2015

Science Week 2015-  Perfect Parachute Parade.

 

We are asking all Year 5 & 6 students to accept the challenge to design and create a parachute that meets the following criteria:

 

 

  • Maximum time in the air             
  • Safe landing.           
  • Contemporary design
  • Creative use of materials – must be your own parachute.
  • Landing on a target.

 

 

 

  • Students may collaborate with other Year 5 & 6 students or work on their own.
  • Students must supply a blueprint of their design and their own materials for this project.
  • All year 5 & 6 students will test and display their fantastic parachutes during Science Week – Week 5 on the oval from a height of 2 metres.
  • Parachute will need to carry a weight of approximately 100grams.

 


*Students who do not present a finished parachute for testing on the day will complete a report on the history of parachutes.
