Construction Materials

Dear parents,
Over this term as part of our History curriculum, students in LA18 will be constructing a mini town settlement out of recycled materials.

For this reason, I would greatly appreciate it if you could start to hold onto any materials from home that you no longer require and are going to throw out. Some materials we could use include: cans, plastic bottles, egg cartons, wood, plastics, cardboard boxes, shoe boxes, fabric, toilet rolls, etc.

It would be great if students could start bringing these materials in ASAP as we would like to start constructing early next week.

Thank you

Write 4Fun

Today students were given information about the Write4Fun competition for National Literacy and Numeracy week.

Here are the important bits to remember:

1. Entries must be to Miss Mac by the end of the day on Thursday 28th August to be judged for the school-wide competition.

2. Poems must not be longer than 16 lines, and short stories must not be longer than 500 words. Typed is preferable (plus Spell Check can be helpful!)

3. An entry form signed by a parent must accompany your entry.

4. There is no set theme, so write about whatever you like!

Please remember to be completing a Lexile Quiz for every book you read that has a quiz available. Remember you are earning points for your class and we want to be the best!
